An Otter.ai alternative that transcribes on your computer
Otter.ai is a cloud meeting assistant that transcribes audio on its servers. TrueScribe transcribes the recordings you already have on your own Windows or Linux machine, with no account and no upload.

Your recordings stay on your device
Media files are decoded and transcribed locally. There is no upload step and no processing account. If you choose a cloud model for a feature, the content that feature needs leaves your device; that is your decision, not the default.
Transcribe the language that was spoken
TrueScribe uses Whisper models, which cover a wide range of languages. It detects the spoken language automatically or uses the one you select. Pro translates locally into 25 languages and keeps the original available.
No subscription
Free covers unlimited local-file transcription, editing, search and TXT, SRT and WebVTT export. Pro is a one-time purchase for up to three devices.
When Otter.ai is the better fit
If you need an assistant that joins live calls and shares notes across a team, Otter.ai is built for that. TrueScribe is for the recordings you already have, worked on privately on your own machine.
